Census Newsletter on Cybersecurity and the 2020 Census by Norm DeWeaver

About

Attached is the latest issue of my occasional newsletter on American Indian and Alaska Native issues in Census Bureau operations and data.

The feature story discusses the cybersecurity issues involved in automating the 2020 Census and how the Census Bureau proposes to address them.  A second story covers the selection of Carol Gore from the Cook Inlet Housing Authority in Alaska to head the Census Bureau's National Advisory Committee on Racial, Ethnic and Other Populations.  The final story discusses the letter which Senators Murkowski, Heitkamp and Klobuchar sent to the Secretary of Commerce calling for an action plan on how the Census Bureau will insure a full count of the American Indian and Alaska Native population in 2020.  Comments, questions and suggestions on the newsletter are always welcome.
